PLN#3*

In the article, A Ramble About Getting Reminded..., by David Warlick, it talks about how the people today go at everything without reading the instructions. He did a poll and asked how many people read the instructions before playing a game. 88% said no and 14% said yes. This also has to do with real life with every new task or thing that comes up. We don't really research it, we just go into it and learn from our mistakes. It talks about how his kid doesn't read how to play his new video game by instructions but by his experience and mistakes. This applies to our english class because when we're writing we don't really read about all the things we have to do, like literary elements, proper sentences, or correct grammer. We learn from our mistakes. We've done this since we were in elementary school and it has prepared us for our class this year and that will prepare us for our next years in the future. Our life is learned by mistakes and past experiences.

PLN#2

In the article, Aurora Police Seek Stabbing Suspect, by The Denver Post, it talks about a man that got stabbed just like in the short story we read. We read "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connel, where a man named Rainsford got trapped on a eerie island where the man there hunts not just animals. Zarnoff, the hunter, owns the island and makes people crash into it so he can hunt them. He gives them a 3 hour head start and then goes out looking for him. Rainsford is a smart hunter as well but this time he is the hunted not the hunter. He creates many traps to kill Zarnoff and try to get away but they don't succeed. He is armed with a knife while Zarnoff has a pistol. Raisford makes a trap where the knife is attached to a branch that will spring down and stab him. When he triggers the trap, it ends up killing his assistant instead of him. This has to do with the article because it was about a man that got stabbed in Aurora and was killed. This is a lot like the story and has a lot to do with what we our talking about in class.

PLN#1

In the article, "The Possibility of More" by Karl Fisch, it explains how Jeff Krause is a exceptional English teacher trying to to improve his teaching and himself. This matters because he is my English teacher and I want him to know what hes doing so I can learn the right stuff. This will help me throughout the semester because I will learn a lot more in my freshman year so I wont be behind the rest of my high school career. I think this relates to the world because he is setting a good example to all English teachers around the world to work harder and try to become more educated to know exactly what they are teaching there students. When he learns, we all learn.
